Oil Free Special Sauce

This recipe is a healthy replica of special sauce that famously comes on the Big Mac. We love this on veggie burgers but it's also amazing on wraps and sandwiches as well.

Special Sauce
  • 3/4 cup raw cashews
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp minced yellow onion (divided)
  • 2 tbsp sweet relish
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1/2 tsp vinegar (I use apple cider)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. In a small blender add in your cashews, water, mustard and spices (omitting the yellow onion and relish). Blend until smooth.
  2. Once blended add in your onion and relish and pulse blend it a few times to incorporate. I like to leave this a little chunky because it preserves the flavor of the onion and relish.
  3. Add into a sealable jar and use on everything your heart desires! This is good on a lot of things not just burgers so get creative with it.
  4. Will last up to a week in the fridge. If the sauce is too thick you can thin it out with a bit of water but it will thicken quite a bit when refrigerated. For more sauce ideas check out my bestselling "Lets Get Saucy" book under the recipe books tab :)
